When one of Bob's co-workers casually asked, "Hey Bob, are you making all the money you want?" Bob responded, "Are you kidding?" The co-worker said he was inviting all his "success-minded" friends to a meeting at his house. Out of curiosity, the Doan's went to see what success-minded people looked like.
Surrounded by nine other couples, the Doan's saw an opportunity they found difficult to believe but impossible to resist. "At first I didn't believe a word he said," Jody recalled, "but I was also scared it just might be real and if I missed out I would regret it for the rest of my life." Bob saw the chance to fulfill a dream of having his own business; Jody saw a way to fund their three children's college education without taking out a loan.
After a disastrous beginning when family tragedy and sickness struck, they started over and gave themselves a deadline. They reached Platinum in seven months, Ruby in nine and Double Diamond in five years. From there, it was just a short step to the Triple Diamond pin where they are today.
"I think you can get to Platinum of Ruby by just working hard. But, you've got to have a plan of action to make it to Diamond. HINT: busy people have lots of prospects."
