Success Story
Over thirty years ago, Kanti and Hemi Gala came to the U.S. from Mumbai, India, and were told that the formula for success was to get a good education, find a good company, and work hard for rest of your life!
Kanti, with a master’s degree in electrical engineering, worked for General Electric. Hemi, an MD, ran a successful medical practice. In 1987, after seeing the business plan, Hemi was excited, while Kanti was quite skeptical. They were encouraged to attend an upcoming Free Enterprise celebration, where Kanti – intending to stay for only two hours – eventually stayed for two days, overwhelmed and impressed by the thousands of people attending the meeting.
Kanti recalls, "I saw Bill and Peggy speak both Saturday evening and Sunday morning. I remember thinking that I had found a real home, one that would allow us to fulfill our dreams. Today, we are blessed with a rich ’mom and dad’ in Bill and Peggy, and a life of abundance that is also in keeping with our heritage and values."
Kanti retired from his job in November 1990, and Hemi left her practice in July 1994. She donated her medical practice to the local hospital and walked away, a free woman.
Their son, Mayank, and daughter-in-law, Sejal, joined them in the business and retired from their jobs before the age of 25. Their teenage daughter, Aarti, is already reading books like, The Magic of Thinking Big, and enjoying life at its best!
