"Suzanne and I had three reasons for building our business," says Pat MacDonald. "Lauren, Joanna and Joshua, our children." When Suzanne had to take her firstborn to a daycare center and go back to work because the family needed the money, the MacDonalds ceased treating their new business as a "someday" business and began to build it in earnest. They knew it could give them some financial options. Pat's job as a corporate medical sales representative and Suzanne's teaching position didn't provide the income they needed. But it wasn't easy to shift their business into high gear. "Leaving our baby in a daycare while we worked our jobs, and with sitters at night while we shared the business with other people was very difficult," says Suzanne. "That was the hard part. But we managed to work through it and with time were able to work from home and be there for our children. Were very thankful for this business and the wonderful people we have met along the way!"
