The following are letters which were received and published by Shad Helmstetter's The Helmstetter Report.

Last weekend we had in Colombia an incredible convention with 15,000 people of the Amway bussiness. We had the opportunity of learning from great leaders. It was a experience with a lot of excitement, knowledge adquiring, association with great people and internal growth.

I have two years and six months developing the Amway business here in Colombia, and my life has changed in all aspects. It is amazing how the life of a 24-year-old man can change to the possitive with this opportunity.

—A. I., Columbia

We have been involved in the Amway business for 6 years now.

Our marriage is the first thing that was saved. And then myself, who was in a fairly bad state of mind, has been developing into someone that I can be proud of.

With these sorts of alterations to your marriage, self attitude, and views on life and succeeding, you can't help but improve the quality of life for yourself and your children.

This has definitely happened in our case. Our children were only six and seven year olds when we started on our self development. Through this our children have developed beautiful, healthy, attitudes, and have become leaders in their schools, and succeeding most everything they attempt. This has been worth more to us than anything!

I personally come from a laborer and welder background with a lot of "pub" nights and weekends, and pretty low self-esteem. I can look back on myself 6 years ago and can predict where I would have been if it were not for the Amway business.

One of my reasons for starting my Amway Business is the ability to help others make a difference in their lives, whether it be financially, socially, culturally, spiritually or emotionally.

I am a humanitarian at heart, and all my welfare concerns requires financial backing, and this backing I'll obtain from my Amway Business. I will be forever grateful that Amway opened its doors here in South Africa.

The people in this business always amaze me; the trials and tribulations that they have endured and the happiness, love, friendships and success that they ended up with.

If only more people could have the vision that we have, and experience the joy and happiness that comes with the association to Amway and its people.

—M. G., South Africa

I live with my family, Mum, Dad and brother about 20kms east of the city of Melbourne. Mum and Dad are also in the Amway business and I can honestly tell you that my Mum is such a different person since joining the business.

I remember how Mum used to always be "almost content" with life, living day-to-day without any hopes, dreams or aspirations. It was extremely painful to watch as I love my Mum so dearly.

Mum and Dad got in the business to buy some golf clubs at the distributor price, and then as they drove to Queensland they began listening to some tapes to fill in time for the 24 hour drive.

This ultimately changed my Mum forever, and it is for this reason that I joined the business. I saw a dramatic change in Mum; she now has the greatest dreams and goals and loves life and lives it to the fullest.

I'm glad to know that there is many "Dreamer" around the world fighting for their future!

I'm come from Hong Kong. In 1995, 18th April, I start my own Amway business, I was 20. In fact, before I understand the marketing plan and the "System", I don't like Amway. I hate this kind of business, because I'm misleading [misled]. I don't know it's a "helping people" business.

Now, I feel very exciting about my future. I know where I want to go. However, my upline and me are facing many challenges in Hong Kong. There is many another direct-sell company using "wrong" method. Many Hong Kong people feel that this is "monkey business". Next, the economic of Hong Kong is very bad now. They always want to buy the "cheap" product.

However, all of us are already make the decision is "NEVER GIVE UP." I'm very serious on this. I belief that I must be a DIAMOND. The challenge in past few years is just the God to test my desire to success. "No guts, no glory." If there is another Amway distributor read this e-mail, I want to tell you that we are together. We are fighting [for] our "Freedom". "Don't let anybody steal your dream!"

I retired from police work in the National Capital of Australia, Canberra, on the 1 July 1993. It took me a couple of years to get around to doing something with life and this is it. My Emerald Direct sponsor told me that being in the business would change my life and outlook on life and, whilst I believed him, I maybe didn't believe him enough.

A few days ago I spoke to a former colleague who, although offered retirement at the same time, decided against it. To talk to this man was like going through a timewarp. He was still in July 1993 and I was in November 1998. It was like I had never left and the days had not passed by. The words I listened to were the same as the words he had uttered only days before I retired. He is so immersed in the negatives of his J O B that he cannot see past the blinkers.

I have changed, my wife has changed, my kids have changed and above all, my friends have changed. I have gone from a police officer with about three friends and a few acquaintances to an Amway Distributor with hundreds of friends that I do know and thousands I haven't met yet.

This is my Pro-Am message from down under - lets have some fun and help people. Doesn't matter who you are, you can do it. We are.
