The following are letters which were received and published by Shad Helmstetter's The Helmstetter Report.

I work full time as an Architect with a large firm in South New Jersey.

I have been a distributor for approximately three years. The life lessons I have learned from the teaching system of that business and the support is unlike any I have ever experience in all the years I have been in business. It has truly given me the drive to do better for meyself and my family.

As a political student I suppose a cynical view of the business world was all I had. When it came to seeing the Amway business I can tell you that all the lights went on in terms of what it was possible to do in the world.

Before, Amway to me was something derided by comedians as a door to door carpet shampoo selling business for crackpots. When I saw it for what it was, I came to see that it is by far the most moral, ethical, powerful and exciting business in the world.

I retired from police work in the National Capital of Australia, Canberra, on the 1 July 1993. It took me a couple of years to get around to doing something with life and this is it. My Emerald Direct sponsor told me that being in the business would change my life and outlook on life and, whilst I believed him, I maybe didn't believe him enough.

A few days ago I spoke to a former colleague who, although offered retirement at the same time, decided against it. To talk to this man was like going through a timewarp. He was still in July 1993 and I was in November 1998. It was like I had never left and the days had not passed by. The words I listened to were the same as the words he had uttered only days before I retired. He is so immersed in the negatives of his J O B that he cannot see past the blinkers.

I have changed, my wife has changed, my kids have changed and above all, my friends have changed. I have gone from a police officer with about three friends and a few acquaintances to an Amway Distributor with hundreds of friends that I do know and thousands I haven't met yet.

This is my Pro-Am message from down under - lets have some fun and help people. Doesn't matter who you are, you can do it. We are.

In December of 1988 I had been married and in the Air Force for 12 years; I was on track in my military career progressing up the ranking structure. My wife chose the role of homemaker and mother for her valuable career, and cared for our two young children.

We managed our money responsibly. We didn't have the frills many of our peers had, yet we had no debt. Finances gradually grew tighter, and we found ourselves struggling to keep up with the rising cost of necessities. We needed more income without jeopardizing the family structure that we believed was best for us.

In the military there is no opportunity for overtime pay; we are paid and on call on a 24-hour clock. "Working harder" doesn't insure recognition for promotion; you must compete with others in your career field and the number of promotions are controlled. While my wife was willing to work outside the home to supplement our income, that would mean going into debt to purchase another vehicle, buy an additional wardrobe, and pay for child care. We still needed additional income.

When we were introduced to Amway's Marketing Plan, our eyes were opened to a modern, high-tech, no-pressure, family-friendly economic structure that would allow us to save money for our household. It was nothing like the Amway stories that we had heard. The savings we began experiencing relaxed our financial stress immediately. A business was born whose only prerequisites were hard work and a willingness to learn.

Amway's federally approved bonus scale encourages and rewards effort with income. There are no excuses, no "something-for-nothing" thinking. The economy is not a scary place if you're tapped into a system that has no ceilings on effort and income, like Amway's. When you work for someone else, you are limited to what they are willing to pay you, what hours are your own, your future and ultimately what lifestyle you will enjoy today and in the future. We DO have choices.

We are excited about what our education within this system the last 10 years has allowed us to accomplish thus far, and what we know we can accomplish in the future based upon our own hard work and helping other people who have like views. Most importantly, if anything were to happen to me, my wife could not perform my job and earn my income.

Yet she's been right in there with me in our Amway business, and could manage it alone if she needed to. Our children have grown up with the principles of Free Enterprise, and understand with confidence what they can accomplish with hard and honest work. That's priceless!

Dear Dr. Helmstetter,

I worked 31 years 4 months & 17 days for a fortune 500 Corp. in Central IL. to generate a retirement income. My Wife & I got started in the Amway Business when I was 48 years of age. In 29 months we developed an income that doubled what I had worked for 31 years 4 months & 17 days to secure. This was achieved by holding on tight to a priceless support system developed by people that had gone the journey and shared their secrets for success.

I want to thank you for your dedication to those that dare to dream & believe that there is a better way. You are helping to usher in the 21st. century in a major way with this powerful information

I am a practicing attorney licensed in Idaho and Washington. When I was truly introduced to Amway the impact on my life was powerful and unexpected. While, after seeing the business plan, it was obvious that Amway could provide me and my family with some of the security the practice of law lacked, I never expected the results in the other aspects of my life.

As I began studying the business training materials, especially listening to the tapes, my attitude and perspective changed in all aspects of my life. I noticed a substantial change in the way I handled my case load. I had a totally different approach to my clients and the financial impact at my job showed these changes.

You should know that prior to becoming involved in this great business, I invested substantial time and money in self improvement literature, including audio tapes.

Frankly, the messages I get from the support materials recommended by my upline far surpass value of the tapes and books I had been purchasing myself in real life application.

What is more, the cost associated with these business support materials is actually less than what I typically spent on their "non-Amway" equalivant. Put this together with the great business opportunity and the substantial savings we enjoy in the superior products and it is hard to understand any of the "stigma" associated with "the American Way" Amway.

Thanks for the chance to share the value, — C.M.
