In October 2009, Cheryl Rhodes and Kerry Murphy, former IBOs from British Colombia, Canada, launched a proposed class action against Amway Canada, alleging Amway was a pyramid and claiming $15000 in damages.

In 2010 Amway submitted a motion to dismiss the case claiming it should be subject to arbitration provisions of the Amway contract. Rhodes and Murphy submitted a motion to dismiss this motion and were rejected by the court.

In May, 2011 Cheryl Rhodes withdrew from the case.

In 2011 the court heard Amway's motion to dismiss and in November 2011 the case was dismissed. Costs were awarded to Amway.

Kerry Murphy has appealed.
