“I had come to this country from Mangalore, India, to get my master’s degree, and because this was the land of opportunity,” says Ganesh. “The minute a friend showed me the Independent Business Ownership plan, I knew this was the way I could be my own boss and work toward financial independence.” Ganesh was still single at the time. True to their Indian culture, “We didn’t even meet each other until 10 days before our wedding,” says Neha. After marrying Neha, Ganesh tried to interest her in the business, but she wasn’t so sure. “I had earned my MBA, had a job with a software company, and I was anxious to begin climbing the career ladder. I was very negative about the business initially,” says Neha. “But I went along because I wanted to spend more time with Ganesh. And the more I saw, the more I believed in him – and in BWW and the Quixtar business.”

“I started talking about the business to everyone I knew,” Ganesh continues. “Some laughed. Some were discouraging. I kept telling myself that people saying ‘no’ to me was a temporary situation. With the help of BWW and my mentors, Raj and Sangita Shah, we had seen enough about the business to understand who was right and who was wrong. I wasn’t going to let anyone steal my dream.”

Working together, Ganesh and Neha discovered common interests and new strengths through BWW. “We see things differently, more optimistically than we used to,” says Ganesh. “We have homes in Michigan and in India, but we actually feel at home everywhere.”
