Story

"I wanted to be captain of my own ship."

"Peter Matz wanted to buy an engineering company. He was a nuclear engineer supervising 350 scientific personnel, and his goal was to leave his job. "We started this business so I could make enough to buy the engineering firm. Barbara, a registered nurse, was raising their five children and five foster children. When our business took off, Peter came home and worked. "I had thought that getting a good education and a job with a large company was the way to go," says Peter, "but I quickly realized that I didn't want to work for anyone else. I wanted to be captain of my own ship. It's quite a ship. Today the Matz organization is worldwide. Now Peter and Barbara work actively in support of Easter Seals, sponsor several underprivileged children in different countries and enjoy 12 grandchildren of their own.
