Introduced in 2005 Atmosphere is a brand of air purifier available through Quixtar in the United States and Canada and Amway in Australia, New Zealand, Hong kong, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand . It is claimed to "effectively eliminate up to 99.99% of the contaminant particles that pass through it, down to .01 microns."[1]. This claim has been verified under the AHAM AC-1 air cleaner performance standard.[2]

The filter includes a washable pre-filter, a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter, which must be replaced every 1 to 3 years, and a replaceable activated carbon filter with a lifespan of 4 months to 1 year.

An Atmosphere air filter, as well as an eSpring water purifier, were donated by Quixtar for an episode of ABC's Extreme Home Makeover.[3]

In February 2009, Atmosphere became the first product certified as "Asthma & Allergy Friendly" by a Certification Program administered by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) in partnership with the international research organization, Allergy Standards Limited (ASL)[4]
